The front end, as Ford says, is inspired by the styling of the classic pony car from the 60s and got a more squared-off shape, while featuring revised headlights with triple bar lighting elements.

Under the hood, there are familiar 2.3-liter EcoBoost I4 and 5.0-liter Coyote V8 mills. The base engine no longer comes with a manual transmission, while V8-equipped models still offer a stick as standard. Both the EcoBoost and Coyote got revised parts, and both gained additional power. The four-banger received an improved turbo and revised fuel delivery and ignition systems, among other updates. The 2.3-liter got a slight increase in power to 315 hp, which is just 5 ponies more than last year. Things get more interesting in the 5.0-liter eight-cylinder which got a healthy bump. It now produces 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft in the GT, providing an increase of 30 horsepower compared to the previous model. The version of this engine used in the new track-ready Mustang Dark Horse punches out 500 hp and 418 pound-feet of twist. The list of cool new features for 2024 includes Remote Rev and a Drift Stick.

Where the most significant changes have been made is on the inside. The "double bubble" dash is gone, giving way to a modernized layout where screens are a focal point. All 2024 Mustangs have a 13.2-inch central touchscreen and a 12.4-inch unit displaying the instruments, split in the base trim and merged for a panel look in higher models.
