Speaking of the new model, it stands out with an exclusive Desert Khaki paint and black body trim pieces. The khaki-colored version shares a powertrain and equipment with the Premium trim. It is motivated by a 2.0-liter flat-four engine capable of generating 152 horsepower and comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission (a manual transmission is not available for this model). Inside, you’ll see a leather-wrapped steering wheel like that of the Crosstrek Premium. However, the Special Edition comes with red-and-black cloth upholstery and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen by default. The latter is optional for the Premium model.

Just like before, the Base and Premium trims are equipped with the above-mentioned engine and can be purchased with a six-speed manual instead of a CVT. The Sport and the Limited soldier on with a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with a CVT. This mill makes 182 horsepower. Finally, the Crosstrek Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter engine teamed with hybrid componentry. The total power output is rated at 148 horsepower. It can drive up to 17 miles on electricity alone and be recharged either at home or at a public charging station. Whatever the model, it is an all-wheel-drive vehicle by default. As for the interior, it is designed with practicality in mind. There is plenty of room on both the front and rear seats, but cargo space is a little below average.
