Inside, G/T models feature unique seats, a performance shifter, and metal pedals. The Limited trim level can now be had with more upscale features as part of the 10th Anniversary Edition pack, including upgraded cabin materials and a model-specific body paint hue. The 2022 Ram 1500 continues offering multiple engine options, all mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard unit is a 3.6-liter 305-hp Pentastar V6 that comes with 48V mild hybrid assistance, which improves fuel efficiency and provides some more torque when needed. That system, called eTorque, is optional on the half-ton’s 5.7-liter 395-hp Hemi V8. With that engine, the truck achieves its maximum tow rating of 12,750 pounds. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 puts out 260 hp and more torque than competitors’ diesels – 410 lb-ft, while delivering the best highway fuel economy.

The Ram 1500 TRX is the monster of the lineup, equipped with a 6.2-liter Hemi (Hellcat) V8 that churns out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The TRX is lightning-fast for its class, capable of going to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. This year, it gets the explosive Ignition Edition appearance package that spruces up the bodywork in orange paint and unique graphics, while adding orange accents inside the cabin. On the functional side, the TRX so equipped comes standard with the level 2 equipment package that includes a heated steering wheel and heated/cooled seats, among other amenities.

Another styling pack available for the TRX is the Sandblast Edition. It is offered for the truck equipped with the Level 2 kit which, again, means it is packed with nice tech & convenience features. What it brings is a bunch of cosmetic upgrades that match the truck’s desert-running nature, such as the Mojave Sand exterior paint color, 18-inch black rims (beadlock-capable to allow airing down), and unique decals, trim, and badges.
