It comes exclusively with xDrive AWD, unlike other models that offer a choice between rear- and all-wheel drive. Regardless of the trim, an 8-speed automatic does the power-routing duty.

From a styling standpoint, the 2021 5-Series got a more handsome front end. The kidney grille is wider and sits lower, while the headlights received L-shaped elements. The M550i now comes standard with the body kit from the M Sport Package that adds aerodynamic accessories and parts. Tech-wise, the sedan became even more advanced, with all models equipped with larger twin 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and driver information.
