The gas engine now produces 10 hp and 19 lb-ft of torque more than last year, putting out 400 hp and 413 lb-ft. Power is managed by a new 9-speed automatic transmission that replaces the 7-speed auto. Thanks to a larger final drive ratio, the new gearbox is advertised to provide more torque at the wheels and improve acceleration. 4x4 is the only available drive layout in the 2020 Titan XD. Cab options are now limited to the sole Crew Cab configuration with a 6.5-foot bed that now comes with LED lighting.

All XD models are underpinned by a reinforced ladder frame to increase towing and payload ratings over the regular Titan. It's the only pickup truck on the market to have a gooseneck hitch right from the factory. Trailering technology includes a brake controller, a tow/haul driving mode, and trailer sway control. The list of tech is improved this year and brings a 9.0-inch screen with Android and Apple connectivity to upper trims. Models on the lower end of the scale make do with an 8.0-inch display. Every 2020 Titan XD comes with Nissan's Safety Shield 360 suite of safety features. On the outside, there's new styling front and rear, with trim levels differentiated by unique grilles, tailgates, and accessories. The PRO-4X gets bold visuals including a black grille with a lava-red Nissan script, while featuring a bevy of parts and systems that increase its off-road potential. It rides on 18-inch wheels with all-terrain rubber, with Bilstein shocks smoothing things out, and has a locking rear differential and skid plates.
