The most noteworthy update for the 2020 version is a 9-speed automatic transmission (along with a push-button gear selection borrowed from the Passport and Pilot), which, however, didn’t help the pickup truck’s fuel efficiency despite the expectations. Nothing else powertrain-related was changed, so the 2020 Ridgeline retained a 3.5L i-VTEC naturally aspirated V6 pumping out 280 HP and 262 lb-ft of torque. Customers can choose between the standard FWD, which is a bit lighter than the previous model, and optional AWD, which is a bit heavier than in 2019. Honda also simplified the trim structure for 2020, eliminating the RT trim and making the Sport trim the base Ridgeline as well as ditching the RTL-T. The RTL, RTL-E, and range-topping Black Edition are three other trim levels available for 2020. The RTL has the best mix of the most desirable features (such as leather seats with heaters in the front and even a moonroof) and value.

Owing to the revised trim structure, the “base” truck includes a lot more standard features like an 8’’ infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration, an active safety tech suite, and more.
