The GMC Terrain compact crossover SUV was completely overhauled for the launch of the second generation in 2018. Two years later, the model remains almost unchanged except for the availability of certain powerplants, comfort, and safety packages. The 2020 GMC Terrain accessories and parts are virtually indistinguishable from their previous versions but the model itself is no longer available with the diesel engine from Opel which was discontinued by the German maker. As a result, the vehicle can be ordered either with a 1.5-liter turbo I4 making 170 horsepower or with its optional 2.0-liter counterpart that can generate up to 252 hp. The former allows for 1,500 pounds of towing capacity, and the latter is rated at 3,500 pounds in this regard. Both engines come coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The model is offered in three trim levels. The top-of-the-line Denali that differs from its lower-status versions with an abundance of chrome exterior trim parts, larger standard wheels, LED headlights, a wider range of available accessories, and more plush interior, received new, premium-level suspension upgrades for improved ride quality. This modification includes special urethane spring isolators for reducing road noises and upgraded shocks and struts equipped with additional internal valves. This allows for further refinement of the suspension system resulting in greater comfort even when driving on rough terrain. When driving in Denali in winter, it is especially pleasant to hold an electrically-heated steering wheel wrapped in fine French leather. The temperature of both front seats can also be regulated whether it is hot or cold outside. The center console no longer features a traditional shifter. It was replaced with an electronic system with buttons on the dashboard providing a more convenient storage space for drinks and phones that could be charged from multiple ports.
For those who want even more comfort and luxury, GMC can offer a special Black Edition of the Terrain featuring many blacked-out and toned-down exterior and interior components. Even though this model is the smallest in the GMC lineup, its interior is spacious enough to accommodate 5 people and is easily transformable for maximizing useful cargo space. Rear-seat backrests split 40 to 60. When you fold down the “40” portion and do the same with the backrest of the front passenger seat, you receive a nice flat surface for transporting long items up to 8 feet, such as skis, ladders, and so on. Whenever you decide to make some upgrades yourself or encounter the situation when you need to provide some repairs or carry out maintenance procedures, you can always rely on our online store that carries an extensive assortment of high-quality 2020 GMC Terrain parts and accessories offered at a reasonable price.
