The gain comes from 30 extra horses and 8 lb.-ft. more torque added to the venerable 5.2-liter engine, which also powers the Lamborghini Huracan. This year's total for the “base” R8 coupe and spyder is 562 hp and 406 lb.-ft., which is more than enough to enjoy the thrills on the track. The top trim, renamed the V10 Performance, ups this count to 602 hp and 413 lb.-ft. This massive power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Three new driving modes—Dry, Wet, and Snow—found their way to the Dynamic Select of the 2020 R8. The stability control was improved for better braking, while a lightweight carbon fiber anti-sway bar was added to the options list. Audi is known for producing Quattro AWD vehicles, with no exception for the R8.
