The Nissan Versa is currently the most affordable new car in the U.S. Despite a small price bump that it gets for 2019, the Versa still provides incredible value. Midway through the last model year, Nissan added a couple of tech goodies to its subcompact sedan, including a 7'' screen for the infotainment system, rearview camera, and USB. The 2019 Nissan Versa becomes even more tech-savvy for its price and class by gaining Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with push-button start as part of its SV Xtronic Special Edition package. Among the features found in this popular package, there are exterior upgrades such as 15-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and more chrome trim in front. Interior goodies include a Piano Black console lid and the steering wheel wrapped in leather, while the NissanConnectSM, vehicle immobilizer, and tire fill alert are part of tech equipment.
All trim levels of the 2019 Nissan Versa—S, S Plus, and SV—continue using a solid naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four good for 109 hp, which is enough to make this subcompact-sized sedan run with zip. In the base S version, it is paired to the old-fashioned 5-speed manual transmission with a choice to move up to a CVT. The latter is a more fuel-efficient option providing EPA-rated 31 mpg city and 39 mpg hwy. With the manual transmission, the Versa offers 27 and 36 miles per gallon city and highway, respectively. The Versa offers a surprisingly good steering feel, a tight turning radius, and great visibility, which all make it easy to drive and park. Nissan's small sedan has a Zone Body construction with multiple features like the steering columns that absorb the energy of impact and integrated hood buckling to ensure maximum safety in the event of a crash.
The interior of the Versa is quiet and comfortable, with generous head- and legroom for five passengers. This amount of room comes from the car's 102.4-inch wheelbase, which is quite long for its class. Just like before, 2019 Nissan Versa accessories and parts of the interior create a minimalist yet functional design. It offers all of the utilitarian features you need while avoiding the clutter and confusing functions typical for some of today's infotainment systems. One cannot expect much from the base S trim, but it does offer a backup camera, A/C, power-operated mirrors, and a tilt steering wheel. Upgrading to the S Plus, you get a CVT, Bluetooth, and cruise control. Some more tech and creature comforts come with the mid-range SV that offers smartphone integration, power windows, keyless entry, an adjustable driver's seat, and more. Externally, the SV adds chrome door handles, a rear spoiler, and some other 2019 Nissan Versa accessories. If you need the features that are unavailable in your trim grade or if you're going to customize it to your needs and wants, you'll find everything you're looking for in our extensive 2019 Nissan Versa parts and accessories range.
