Although Ford gave its Fusion lineup a facelift back in 2017, the automaker's mid-size sedan got a range of improvements for 2019, the most significant of which come on the technology front. Its closest competitors, the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, got serious upgrades last year, so it's time for the Fusion to play a catch-up game. Ford, indeed, decided to play it safe and didn't mess much with what already is a good thing. So apart from new tech, the 2019 Ford Fusion received slight exterior tweaks, fresh color options inside and out, simplified trim grade lineup, and an increase in the all-electric range on the Energi Titanium.
First of all, Ford's Co-Pilot360 Protect suite of safety technologies now comes standard across the 2019 Fusion lineup. This range of driver assists includes a rear backup camera, automatic highbeams and wipers, lane keeping aid, blind spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. The Fusion SE gains more standard tech that was optional last year, including WiFi, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and the latest Sync 3 operated via an 8” touchscreen. The SEL trim supersedes the previous SE Luxury Package and provides an array of comfort-enhancing 2019 Ford Fusion accessories and parts, including heated seats in front, power driver's seat that offers 10-way adjustment, remote start, LED headlights, etc. The Titanium trim now offers even more standard goodies, including adaptive cruise control, while the luxury Platinum has been dropped.
The 2019 Fusion retains a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 175-hp four that is used on the base S model only. The uplevel SE now offers the standard 1.5-liter turbo I4 that previously was on the options list. The Titanium carries over with the four-cylinder EcoBoost that displaces 2.0 liters, while the Sport, like before, comes standard with the segment's most powerful 2.7-liter 325-hp V6 and AWD. The Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid retains the same configuration while getting 25 miles of electric-only range provided by a fresh 9-kWh lithium-ion battery, versus the last year's 21-mile range. Appearance-wise, the facelifted model got new 2019 Ford Fusion accessories and parts front and rear, including a new five-bar grille, chrome tail light trim, and wheel designs. The Titanium differentiates itself with a chrome mesh grille, remodeled trunk lid, and new fog lights and tail lights. If you are looking to add more distinctive touches to your sedan, look no further as we have the right 2019 Ford Fusion parts and accessories that come from tried-and-true aftermarket manufacturers.
