The 2019 Ford Explorer utilizes three potent engines. The base one is a 3.5 L V6 making 290 hp, with a fuel-efficient 2.3 L turbo I4 rated at 280 hp offered optionally. The range-topping unit is a 3.5 L turbo V6 that delivers 365 hp. Installed on the Sport grade, it is teamed with a firmer suspension for a more exciting driving experience. All engines are connected to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options are available. The 2019 Ford Explorer delivers ample utility, offering 21 cu. ft. of cargo space behind all seats and up to 81.7 cu. ft. behind the first row of seats. Inside, there is a large center console bin, anti-tip cupholders, and long door pockets. Besides, the SUV is tow-capable. I4-powered versions can tow 3,000 lb, while both V6 engines can pull up to 5,000 lb.
