For 2019, Dodge unveiled the special version of its Durango SUV developed for law enforcement agencies. Named the Durango Pursuit, the model offers a number of improvements, both inside and out. Just like the regular version, the newcomer offers two potent engines, being a 3.6 L V6 capable of 293 hp and a 5.7 L V8 good for 360 hp. The latter is shared with the Charger Pursuit that is the best-selling U.S. police sedan. The suspension of the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit was performance-tuned to improve stability and control. The vehicle also comes with aluminum wheels wrapped in 18” tires, stabilizer bars (both front and rear), large 13.8” front and 13” rear brakes, and load-leveling shocks. As for the visual updates, the new Durango Pursuit received a new front fascia incorporating brake-cooling air ducts.

Dodge updates the Durango not as often as other automakers. The model has been produced since 2011 offering a proven formula of remarkable power, excellent towing capacity, enough space in all three rows of seats, and rugged unibody construction. For 2019, Dodge released several updates for its SUV, including three new exterior colors (Reactor Blue, Destroyer Gray, and F8 Green), new alloy wheel design, and an integrated trailer brake controller for vehicles equipped with the Trailer Tow Package offered as an option. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross path systems became available for all trim levels. The regular versions of the model come with the same engines as the newly introduced Pursuit variant, except for the performance-oriented SRT introduced a year before. The latter utilizes a 6.4 L V8 that develops 475 hp and enables the vehicle to reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and tow up to 8,600 lb. The stopping power is ensured by performance Brembo brakes that come with two-piece rotors. The Durango SRT also features an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, adaptive suspension, performance-tuned steering, and a range of other performance upgrades. An advanced 8-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the range.

The base version of the 2019 Dodge Durango offers 18” wheels, load-leveling suspension in the rear, keyless entry and ignition, cloth upholstery, rear-view camera, three-zone climate control, and split-folding seats in the second and third rows (60/40 in the second row and 50/50 in the third row, respectively). Optional leather seats are now available. As for tech features, the model comes with 7” touchscreen, smartphone integration, 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and dual USB ports. Starting with the Citadel trim level, the 2019 Durango features an 8.4” touchscreen and an optional Harman Kardon audio system featuring 19 speakers.
