Although the second generation of Chevy’s largest SUV, the Traverse, was unveiled for 2018, it was given a number of upgrades for the following model year. Most of them are minor – the Chevrolet Traverse now features a new badge on the liftgate, while the range-topping Premier and High Country grades fitted with the Hit The Road Package received bright roof rack cross rails instead of black ones. 2FL and 1LT grades now ride on painted aluminum wheels (18”) instead of machined face ones. As for interior improvements, the 2019 Chevy Traverse now comes with a new steering wheel that features an automatically activated heating function. Changes to optional packages complete the range of upgrades for 2019. The Cargo Package now comes without an integrated cargo liner that became part of the Floor Liner Package. The Premium Carpet Mat Package isn’t available on LS, LT and 1LZ trim levels, offered exclusively on the High Country grade. The new Premium package is now available for the LT Leather trim, while being standard for higher models. It adds a 10-speaker audio system by Bose and an 8” touchscreen.

Built on the enlarged C1 platform, the same found in the Buick Enclave, the 2019 Chevy Traverse employs a pair of reliable engines. Most versions come with a 3.6 L V6 under the hood that offers both an excellent power output and ample fuel economy producing 310 hp and returning up to 27 mpg. The sporty RS variant of the Traverse utilizes a 2.0 L turbo I4 capable of delivering 257 hp. Plus, this vehicle also adds some specific styling cues. A 9-speed automatic is the only gearbox available in both cases. Most trim levels are fitted with an FWD layout with AWD being offered optionally, except for L and RS versions that come with front-wheel drive only. The base configuration of the 2019 Traverse features xenon headlights, 18” wheels, LED DRLs, and tilt-adjustable steering. Tech features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, rear-view camera, 4G LTE, 7” touchscreen, MyLink infotainment system, Teen Driver system, and smartphone integration.
