In 2016, Chevy introduced its sixth-generation Camaro that received a major redesign. And for the 2019 model year, to keep its popular model fresh, Chevrolet gives the Camaro a facelift with the most prominent changes made to its front and rear exterior design. All trim levels now have more unique features for better visual differentiation. All versions across the lineup received more sculpted hoods, and the majority of them got new headlights with LED DRLs that spill over into the grille. While the LT sports a menacing black mesh grille of bigger size, the RS now has a sleek polished black grille accented with Galvano chrome elements. The 2019 Chevy Camaro features redesigned rounded quad tail lights. RS and SS Camaros boast more aggressive-looking black tail lights and a unique diffuser out back for aerodynamic enhancements. New 20'' wheel designs available for these models complete their bold look. Besides, the SS model now features the front bumper with air curtains for improved aerodynamics and heat extraction vents on the hood. Its grille is now fitted with larger openings and a hollow manufacturer's emblem to achieve as much airflow as possible. Chevy said that they didn’t mess with the track-oriented ZL1 exterior since it already has optimal aerodynamic features. Also, all trims received a redesigned rear bumper.

In the 2019 model year, Chevy makes the track-ready 1LE package available with the base turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 engine that produces 275 hp. The stunning powertrain option for the ZL1 1LE is a combination of a 6.2-liter supercharged small-block V8 mated to a Hydra-Matic 10L80 tranny which is engineered for better high-speed efficiency. The entry-level 2019 Chevy Camaro 2.0T is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. As before, the high-performance package is offered with the SS model that features a 3.6-liter V6 good for 355 hp and ZL1 trim powered by a turbocharged 6.2-liter LT1 V8 with 650 hp. The new 10-speed semi-automatic transmission, developed by GM with Ford, is now available for the SS model. The option features line lock, launch control, and paddle shifters. Line lock is designed specifically for drag racers. It allows for locking the front brakes while leaving the rear ones free for burnouts. Warmed up tires offer better grip on the strip. Also, the 1LE package includes Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tires on 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes with metallic performance pads, flat-bottom suede-wrapped racing steering wheel, and optional Recaro sports seats. Starting in 2019, forward collision warning becomes available, as well as new Track and Competition driving modes. Standard and optional features include the new Infotainment 3 system with a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen display, Rear Camera Mirror, upgraded rear view camera, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple Car play and Android Auto, cloud connectivity, navigation, improved Performance Data Recorder, and much more.
