Released for the 2017 model year, the Cadillac XT5 is currently the only midsize crossover in the automaker’s lineup and one of its best-selling vehicles. Though this luxurious five-door SUV is still very fresh to the market, it got a bunch of updates for 2019. This year's model received new colors, second-generation wireless smartphone charging, and a number of changes to the equipment. Although, the powertrain and wheelbase remain unchanged. Thus, the new XT5 keeps sharing the GM C1 platform with the GMC Acadia and getting power from a 3.6 L V6 direct-injection engine rated at 310 HP. The XT5 lineup includes the same four trims plus a special-edition Sport model, each of which got its own set of changes. Cadillac’s new crossover is no more available with Deep Amethyst Metallic, Red Passion Tintcoat, and Midnight Sky Metallic colors. But while doing away with 3 exterior color options, it has gained 4 new ones: Shadow Metallic, Manhattan Noir Metallic, Dark Mocha Metallic, and Red Horizon Tintcoat. The Luxury trim is now available with either the 20-inch Ultra Bright machined faced wheels w/Midnight Silver accents or the 20-inch 12-spoke fully polished ones. The latter wheel design is now offered on the XT5 Premium Luxury. The all-new Sport Package gives the XT5 Luxury and Premium Luxury an aggressive look. Up front, there is a prominent black mesh grille framed by a Galvano surround and complemented by standard LED headlights. The stealth-styling theme expands to the sides where there are darker trim pieces. The crossover rolls on 20-inch wheels finished in gray and has sport pedals and diamond-cut aluminum accents in the cabin.

Inside, the new XT5 deletes the rear seat DVD entertainment system. The Standard trim now comes with no wireless phone charging. At the same time, three other trims are offered with updated wireless phone charging (2nd generation) that features more power and wider charging surface. To ensure even greater confidence behind the wheel, the XT5 Luxury now comes with Driver Awareness Package, while the Platinum trim boasts Driver Assist Package. Finally, Platinum models have Provence leather on the instrument mid-panel, while other XT5s have micro-suede on it. Just like before, the XT5's cabin is fitted with authentic materials such as cut-and-sewn leather and natural wood and features carbon fiber & aluminum accents. All 2019 Cadillac XT5 accessories and parts are thoughtfully designed to provide a rich and pleasant feel. The list of interior colors has also been changed for this year. Thus, the Carbon Plum color w/Jet Black accents was canceled.
