The base S version also offers increased value, coming with a new chrome grille and 16” aluminum alloy wheels.

The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta offers three highly efficient engines. The base one is a 1.4 L turbo I4 capable of generating 150 hp. It is mated to a 5-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic is offered as an option. In both cases, the unit returns 28 mpg city, but highway economy differs – 40 mpg with a manual and 38 mpg with an automatic transmission. A 1.8 L turbo I4 is available optionally, delivering up to 170 hp. Directed through an automatic only, this engine returns 24 mpg city and 33 mpg hwy. The line-topping offering is a 2.0 L turbo I4 that can develop 210 hp. This engine is also paired with an automatic gearbox and provides the same fuel efficiency as the 1.8 L I4.

The 2018 Jetta uses both active and passive safety features in order to ensure a high level of safety. It comes with 6 standard airbags and a lot of safety systems, both mechanical and electronic, including the standard electronic stability control and rearview camera. The corporate Automatic Post-Collision Braking System is standard for the car as well. When airbag sensors detect a primary collision, the system applies brakes in order to reduce the chance of additional damage.
