The regular Prius and Prius Prime utilize a 1.8 L Atkinson-cycle I4, electric motor, li-ion battery, and CVT. This powertrain delivers 121 hp in total and returns up to 58 mpg for the Prius and 55 mpg for the Prius Prime. Besides, the latter delivers 133 MPGe in EV mode, which is the highest number in the industry. The powertrain of the Prius V includes a 1.8 L I4, electric motor, nickel-metal hydride battery, and CVT. It develops 134 hp and returns 41 mpg combined.
