For the 2018 model year, the Jeep Renegade offers a number of updates. The interior was revised – now it features new bezel treatments, seat fabrics, and colors. There is a number of other minor upgrades made, including a relocated USB port and two new front-row storage areas that improve storage capacity. A rear backup camera is standard for the 2018 Renegade. All versions of the model except for the Sport feature the Uconnect 4 system that uses a 7” screen. An 8.4” one with navigation is available for these trim grades as an option. The Sport variant comes with a 5” display (or an optional 7” screen), Bluetooth, radio, voice command, and 6 speakers.

The 2018 Jeep Renegade offers a superior combination of convenience, open-air freedom, and best-in-class off-road capability. The base model comes with a 1.4 L turbo I4 generating 160 hp, connected exclusively to a 6-speed manual. A 2.4 L I4 capable of 180 hp is offered optionally. This power unit is directed through the first in the segment 9-speed automatic gearbox contributing to remarkable driving dynamics, both on and off the road. All versions of the 2018 Renegade offer a choice of front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, except for the Trailhawk, which is available only with 4WD. The base engine returns 27 mpg combined, with the larger one providing 25 mpg with FWD and 24 mpg with 4WD.

4×4 versions of the 2018 Jeep Renegade employ an exclusive for the segment disconnecting rear axle that operates together with a power take-off unit to optimize fuel economy. In addition, they feature selectable drive modes for various terrains. The Trailhawk variant uses a more advanced 4WD system featuring an extra drive mode and increased low-speed off-road gearing. It also offers skid plates, red tow hooks, 8.7” ground clearance, hill-descent control, water fording capability of up to 19 inches, and wheel articulation of up to 8.1 inches. In addition, when fitted with a tow package (optional) and a 2.4 L engine, the Renegade Trailhawk is capable of towing 2,000 lb.
