The Cadillac ATS starts the 2018 model year offering quite a small amount of improvements. The model’s instrument cluster was updated, and auto-heated steering wheel and front seats were made standard on all versions of the car. The new ATS utilizes the latest version of the corporate infotainment system that provides an improved user experience. The system was updated and now offers smartphone-like navigation, personalized profiles, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, smartphone integration, and more dynamic platform. The 2018 Cadillac ATS also features a premium 10-speaker sound system by Bose providing remarkable sound experience as standard. The myCadillac mobile app for iOS can now be integrated with Apple Watch, enabling you to have quick access to such commands as remote start and stop, vehicle locate, lock and unlock doors, and others. This way, the ATS is not only the most fun-to-drive car in the segment, but also one of the most connected ones.
The 2018 Cadillac ATS employs a pair of dynamic power units. Turbo and Turbo Luxury variants come with a turbocharged 2.0 L I4 under the hood that can deliver 272 hp. These versions feature a performance-tuned ZF steering system and front brakes by Brembo. Premium Luxury and Premium Performance grades take their power from a 3.6 L V6 engine capable of generating 335 hp. Top trims come with race-inspired features like a segment-exclusive adaptive suspension, performance cooling system, limited-slip rear differential, and performance tires. A paddle-shift 8-speed automatic is standard for the 2018 ATS, and the Turbo variant can also be paired with a 6-speed manual. An automatic gearbox features 4 simple gear sets and 5 clutches and is compact – it fits the same space as a 6-speed automatic.
For 2018, Cadillac unveiled a limited-edition version of the performance ATS-V model named the IMSA Championship Edition to celebrate its very successful 2017 IMSA season. The new model comes with a number of distinctive features, including 18” black-accented wheels, hood vent and IMSA decals, red mirror caps, carbon front splitter, special rear-window motif, rear wing, rear diffuser, and red brake calipers. Inside, there are red upholstery and Recaro seats. Only 100 coupes and 100 sedans were produced.
