Released in 2005, the Q7 was the first SUV in Audi’s lineup and is still the biggest vehicle produced by the German automaker. This three-row luxury crossover shares the platform with its corporate siblings, the Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne. The Audi Q7 is 198.9 inches long and its wheelbase measures 117.9 inches. Despite its imposing size, this crossover is nimble on the road and boasts excellent handling. Luxurious, powerful, and nicely designed, the Q7 is one of the top choices in its segment. The ongoing second generation was rolled out in the U.S. in 2016 for the 2017 model year. Considering this recent update, the 2018 Audi Q7 carries over from the previous year mostly unchanged, except for a few minor tweaks added to its trim levels.
The 5,390-pound 2018 Q7 is put in motion by either a 2.0-liter 252-horsepower four-cylinder or a 3.0-liter 333-horsepower turbocharged V6 powerplant. The only transmission option is an eight-speed automatic that feeds power to a permanent all-wheel-drive system. The 3.0-liter Q7 sprints to 60 mph in impressive 5.9 seconds. While handling is admirable even in a base configuration, an optional Adaptive Chassis adds four-wheel steering and air suspension that ensures truly unflappable response and stability.
The 2018 Audi Q7 is available in three trim levels with a plethora of features distributed among them. For 2018, the Premium trim gained keyless entry and ignition as standard, while a Bose audio system and power operated doors were added to the standard equipment on Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels, respectively. Apart from the main trims, there is an optional Cold Weather package that adds a heated steering wheel and rear seats. The Q7’s cargo capacity is below class average - you can fit only 14.8 cubes of cargo behind the rear seats, which is much less than the Q7’s main rival, the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, can carry. This issue, however, is easy to solve - the power-folding rear seats create plenty of space to haul your luggage.
The Q7 is not just another big SUV, it’s an outstanding performer with a bold character. Numerous luxury-oriented features, top-notch technology, and comfortable ride make the Q7 one of the segment leaders. And here at CARiD, we believe that such a vehicle deserves nothing less than the highest-grade 2018 Audi Q7 accessories and parts to make it look and perform at its peak.
