The vehicle received a new 3.5 L V6 that delivers a solid boost in performance offering 30 hp and 18 lb-ft more. Now, it generates up to 296 hp and 263 lb-ft. The new unit is connected to a new 8-speed automatic gearbox that replaced a previous 6-speed one. The new transmission is intended to deliver not only improved performance but also higher fuel economy – plus 1 mpg city and 2 mpg hwy if compared to the preceding version (19 mpg and 27 mpg, respectively). The layout remained unchanged – all variants of the Sienna are FWD in the base configuration and AWD is offered as an option on certain grades.
