The latter also ensures notable acceleration, propelling the vehicle to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, while the I4 does the same in a bit more than 8 seconds. The 2017 Altima offers the only transmission being an Xtronic CVT that features simulated gears and the latest D-step Shift logic to deliver a more responsive acceleration feel during both reacceleration after slowing down and acceleration from a standstill. The same gearbox is used by the Maxima and Murano. The Altima also utilizes an Active Understeer Control system that lightly and almost undetectably brakes the inside front wheel in corners to enhance a yaw moment.
