The Electric variant of the Focus uses a permanent magnet traction engine rated at 143 hp that works together with a direct-drive 1-speed transmission. The fuel efficiency of the standard engine is rated at 29 mpg combined, while a turbo I3 returns 34 mpg. As for the Electric variant, it delivers the equivalent of 107 mpg.
