One of the world’s toughest off-road vehicles, the Jeep Wrangler received a number of updates for 2014 and introduced two special-edition models, the Freedom and Rubicon X. The vehicle provides unsurpassed off-road capability thanks to its prominent four-wheel drive system and Jeep’s 70-plus years of engineering experience. The 2014 Jeep Wrangler employs a body-on-frame design, live axles, five-link suspension, and electronic lockers. A number of axle gear ratios is available for the model, enabling drivers to optimize capability of the vehicle and/or fuel efficiency. Besides, the Wrangler is capable of towing 3,500 lb. To scale even the toughest terrains, the 2014 Wrangler offers impressive angles, including 44.3 degrees of approach angle, which is the best number in the class.

The 2014 Jeep Wrangler utilizes a 3.6 L Pentastar V6 that generates 285 hp. The engine delivers a broad band of torque, focusing on low-end torque, which is very important for off-roading. It is connected to a 6-speed manual in its standard configuration, with a 5-speed automatic offered optionally. The alternator of the vehicle is placed high and oil sump can deliver oil to the pump even at extreme angles, that’s why the Wrangler has remarkable water-fording capability. The interior of the new model offers versatility, intuitive feature use, and comfort combined with rich styling. Inside, there are heated leather seats, auto temperature controls, steering wheel controls, and power mirrors.

Two special-edition versions of the Wrangler were unveiled for 2014. The Rubicon X is the most capable model in the lineup. Constructed on the Rubicon, the vehicle employs rear Dana 44 axles, four-wheel drive (part-time), and Rock-Trac transfer case. It provides a remarkable crawl ratio of 73.1:1, enabling the Rubicon X to cope with any obstacle. This version also has some distinctive exterior features, including black aluminum wheels and off-road bumpers (both front and rear), dual-intake Power Dome hood, red tow hooks, and others. Constructed on the Sport model, the Freedom Edition offers a gray grille, silver-painted 17” alloy wheels, Sunrider soft top, hood decals, special fender badges, and other styling features.

2014 Jeep Wrangler Accessories Reviews

My old mats were a tad too worn so I decided to purchase a front set for my Camaro. I opted for the black version with a logo and red premium binding and was quite impressed. Despite the slightly steep price of $175, I must say the value is clearly evident. The mats are significantly larger than the originals. They integrate perfectly with the car's carpet locks, just like the stock ones. Overall, I think they're worth the money.
