When you're driving in fog and turn on your headlights, the drops of water in the fog reflect the light right back at you, which doesn't help much when you're trying to find your way through a fog bank. For this reason, fog lights are mounted closer to the ground and aimed downward, so the light is directed at the roadway, thereby reducing the glare created from reflected light.

Fog lights illuminate the road directly in front of the vehicle, so you can stay on your side of the yellow line and off the shoulder when driving at a speed appropriate to conditions. Being able to see where you're going is a key to safe driving, making fully functional fog lights important to your vision. These Factory Style Fog Lights will provide the added safety factor of fog lights along with attractive original equipment type styling to become a great addition to your vehicle.

Every Spec-D fog light meets all U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and is compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108. They're designed to exactly replace your factory lights; however some electrical wiring work may be required. Most lights come with detailed instructions to guide you through the installation. Spec-D fog lights are backed by a limited 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Saturday Driveway Project # 8530882
Spec-D® LF-COR11OEM - Factory Style Fog Lights
For your safety and piece-of-mind your best decision is always to have automotive experts perform difficult installations. If you feel capable you may, or may not, install something to professional and/or legal standards, so weigh your capabilities, options, and expectations carefully when considering projects. Pros: I install Spec-D Fog Lights, from CARiD, last Saturday afternoon in my driveway. After removing the Toyota CE plugs from the bumper, the Spec-D hardware fit snugly in place with the removal of only two small plastic covers under the car. The electrical harness was in two sections, four straight-forward connections under the hood, and four connections inside the car. *I disconnected the battery and came back to that connection last, after finding that a fog light circuit actually existed in the CE (multi-meter). The small fuse box near the steering wheel is where I added an add-a-circuit fuse(so easy), instead of splicing into ignition wires. One wire (yellow) was fished through an existing firewall grommet. When completed, I actually had two fuses in the circuit, and that circuit was controlled by the ignition switch. I didn't have to remove any major body parts (plus), or solder any splices. I still have to aim the lights one evening soon, but they work just fine. Cons: The instructions were somewhat ambiguous, but the harness made sense and facilitated the job. The light-to-light portion of the harness was a little tight and could use an extra inch or two. The fog light switch sat to deep in the factory dash hole and jammed in the on position when pushed in. I cut back the top and bottom of the inner portions of the factory switch hole (about 3/16") and put a plumbing gasket over the back of the switch and reinstalled it. It worked perfect, and sat in the hole securely without jamming. I received the lights from CARiD, at the US/CDN border, within a couple of days of ordering them. The box had green tape across the top that said "Inspected by Homeland Security." (I guess their helping to protect us Canadians too). I walked the box and invoice through Canadian Customs where I was told to "Have a nice day." Everything was in perfect condition when received. As a first time customer of CARiD I was pleased with the way they assisted my purchase and delivered the product. The product was exactly as advertised and appears to be of OEM quality, but without the price. The buy safe Guarantee was an added bonus. I would definitely shop at CARiD's online site again for my automotive needs. CR All-and-all I am happy with the end result - especially the aesthetics, and the money I saved. The driveway groping and a couple of minor scrapes on the knuckles was well worth it.
