U.S. RACK started, just like many other businesses in the USA, in a garage in Silicon Valley. The company’s founder, Chris Green, realized that the bulky truck rack he had at that time was very inconvenient to remove and store. So he was passionate about creating a truck rack that could be easily clamped onto a truck and stored when not in use. And that’s exactly what he did. To make sure that his racks were safe and functional, he cooperated with a university engineering department and independent engineering lab. Chris Green launched the production of his racks in 2000. In 2003, the company built a larger production plant in Madera, CA, to accommodate the growing demand for its racks.

Today, U.S. RACK products are recognized nationwide for their distinctive designs and sturdy construction. Truck racks are manufactured using the highest grade materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and plastic. Aluminum racks use extruded aluminum structural elements that are connected with unique steel connectors attached both on the inside and outside of the elements. The company avoids aluminum welds because they are prone to cracking and fatigue. Crafted by the world’s best fabricators, U.S. RACK's steel welds make for a very strong connection that will withstand the toughest abuse. However, when strength matters most, carbon steel racks are the best bet. Aluminum and stainless steel racks are the way to go if you live in a humid or salty environment.

Unlike some other companies that paint their racks with liquid paint containing volatile chemicals, U.S. RACK uses an environmentally friendly powder coating process. The powder-coated finish looks great and ensures superior resistance to corrosion and the elements. The racks are available in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and colors. Colors vary from black to white to blue, and much more, with black being the most popular option. Many racks are designed to fit specific truck models, while some fit up to 95% of all trucks on the road today. On top of this, most racks come with an integrated clamping system that allows for easy installation. No drilling or other modifications required! This system often ensures a stronger connection than drilling holes in your truck.

Cross bar bolt issues

U.S. RACK® - Paddler Truck Rack

When you watch the video, you will see them use a track bolt to install the cross bar. However, when you get the product it will be a round one that will spin when you put pressure to the nut. To solve, put the bar on the ground or a table. Start the nut and then lift up so gravity pulls the bar tight and locks the bolt so it will not turn. Once you have it semi -tight so you can still slide the leg on the cross bar to adjust for alignment then you will be able to tighten once you put it on the truck base posts. Barely clears my cab on my Tundra crew cab limited trd model. Noodles zip tied cross bar give the extra clearance. I have a sunroof so it has a hump on the cab.
