It is strong and lightweight, and will not deform or break due to high temperatures in the engine bay. The signature K&N red filter becomes a centerpiece of the engine compartment when you lift the hood up to show off what you’re packing there. The rotationally-molded tube helps increase the volume of air supplied to your engine providing a guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque.
The filter is washable and reusable. It features oiled red cotton filter media. The filter is large enough and has a special conical design, which allows you to go up to 100,000 miles between filter services under normal highway driving conditions. To protect intake air from engine heat, a custom shield was added. The system is very easy to install. It can be done in less than 90 minutes. Note that some intakes are not legal for sale or use on any pollution-controlled motor vehicle in California.
