Redesigned Exterior & Interior

The second-gen Trax is “larger than the previous model with a lower height.” The crossover gained 11 inches in length, 2 inches in width, and 6 inches in the wheelbase, now offering a more spacious cabin with more room for rear passengers and cargo. The overall height is reduced by 4 inches. The outward design of the new Trax is a dramatic improvement over the previous generation. Gone is the bland look of a basic runabout; instead, there is an athletic Blazer-inspired appearance that is fully in line with contemporary crossover design trends.

Inside, the 2024 Trax got a thorough makeover, too. On the mid-grade LT trim and above, there is an 8-inch digital gauge display paired with an 11-inch infotainment screen, while lower trims come with an 8-inch infotainment system.

New Powertrain

The sole engine option for the Trax is a 1.2-liter turbo I3 mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This is the same engine that motivates the base Trailblazer where it puts out 155 hp. In the Trax, however, the 3-cylinder generates 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, and only drives the front wheels.
