2020 Porsche 911 Series Automotive Tools

The German automaker's flagship for speed, luxury, and racing-inspired style, the Porsche 911 has evolved to become an automotive icon. It has been a sports car par excellence for over five decades. The 911 is offered in a wide range of body styles, engine options, and drive layouts to meet various needs of different drivers. Today, no other model can compete with this sports car in terms of diversity. Aside from being available in a number of versions, the 911 has been constantly upgraded to not only remain competitive on the market, but also provide customers with the latest technologies. To reflect the tweaks for each model year, Porsche changes its internal code. The eighth generation of this car, codenamed 992, broke cover for the 2020 model year. As always, the high-quality, precisely-engineered 2020 Porsche 911 Series accessories and parts in its construction operate in perfect balance to deliver the driving thrills expected from one of the world's most revered sports cars.

The newcomer brings a bunch of updates including revised safety features and infotainment technology. Many 2020 Porsche 911 Series parts have been redesigned for better functionality and/or a more attractive appearance. Changes begin with a modified platform. While the 96.5-inch wheelbase hasn’t been changed for this year, the overall length is now increased by one inch. Although, the weight stays the same thanks to aluminum rear fenders that replace steel ones. The previously available 3.0 L twin-turbo engine is carried over to this year. It is blessed with a new intercooler, piezo fuel injectors, and higher-flow cast-iron exhaust headers, which altogether result in more horsepower. Thus, the twin-turbocharged 3.0 L flat-six unit now provides 379 HP in the base model and the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 Coupe and Cabriolet. 443 HP is the output that comes in the RWD Carrera S and AWD S4 Cabriolet versions of the car. The new convertible with the “S” badge can speed up from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds reaching a top speed of 190 mph. Its 4S variant can do it even one-tenth of a second faster falling 2 mph short in the top speed category. The soft roof on both cabrios can be opened or closed in 12 seconds if you don’t go faster than 31 mph. Both Porsche Carrera S and 4S Cabriolets come standard with power wind deflectors and door handles.

Like its predecessor, the new Porsche model is equipped with a PASM adaptive suspension even in its base form, and has the option of rear-wheel steering. But the 2020 911 Series introduces an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automated manual transmission that offers extremely fast gear shifting without any interruption in the flow of power. A 7-speed manual transmission is still available, so driving purists will be satisfied. The manual-equipped Carrera S and 4S add the Sport Chrono package at no extra cost. All Carreras now feature a Wet Mode that joins the previously available driving modes. Another significant improvement for this model year is making keyless entry and ignition standard in all 911 models. This year model boasts a number of notable extras like Porsche Surface Coated Brakes and a Sport Chassis, which allows for lowering the car by about 0.4 inch. Besides, customers are offered the Sport Chrono Package that brings active engine mounts, more options in driver settings, etc. Inside, the new car has a larger central touchscreen and plenty of refined 2020 Porsche 911 Series accessories, while on the outside, even the least expensive 911 now features a widebody appearance, previously seen exclusively on upmarket versions.

The new Heritage Design package is meant to hark back to Porsche sports cars of the past and adds retro treatment to the 2020 911 Speedster. It looks stunning dressed in a metallic-and-white livery, with gold logos and optional racing numbers on the doors. Inside, the seats are upholstered in Cognac leather and feature embossed Porsche crests. The Speedster borrows some parts from the GT3 R, which help up the pony count of a 4.0-liter flat-six to 502 horsepower. A 6-speed manual is the only option, so sports car purists will be satisfied.

Paid extra for the emblem and it was absolutely the right call. The embroidery is well done and truly adds a nice touch. Hope there won’t be any fading or issues with the mats anytime soon.
