When developing our radiators, Nissens strongly emphasizes high cooling capacity and reliability. As part of the product development, a number of tests are carried out. These tests include pressure impulse, thermic expansion, vibrations, and corrosion. Both production and tests take place in accordance with the TS 16949 and OE standards.
The latest technology offering even more efficient cooling
Nissens is the first manufacturer in Europe to offer radiators produced in-house based on the latest 5 mm technology, thus meeting the need to combine a larger cooling efficiency with a significantly reduced need for space for the cooling unit.
What does 5 mm mean?
Originally, the 5 mm technology was introduced and applied in a selection of popular Japanese cars, e.g. Mazda, Suzuki and Toyota. Today, the European market potential is also growing, and the number of new cars equipped with the 5 mm cooling technology develops rapidly. The 5 mm term indicates that the spaces between the tubes in the radiator core are 5 mm. Until recently, the majority of aluminum radiators for cars were made with 10 mm tube distance. The remarkable distance reduction in 5 mm radiators generates a number of interesting benefits in comparison to the standard systems of 10 mm:
The perfect Choice for excellent Engine Cooling
To create technical, economic and environmental benefits, the automotive market is moving towards new technologies and raw materials. A new trend involves the use of aluminum in radiators for automotive applications.
Nissens now offers an interesting range of market-popular full-aluminum radiators. For decades, we have developed and mastered in-house production of Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) processes in our factories in Europe.
Aluminum is ideal for car manufacturers and car users, since availability of the raw material, lower weight, non-corrosive advantages as well as cost efficiency ensure excellent and efficient cooling solutions.
Nissens’ proven Performance in Full-Aluminum Technology
Applying an intercooler in a turbocharged system significantly improves the combustion process, and the outcome is an increased engine power effect. Intercoolers reduce the temperature of the hot air compressed by the turbocharger, before it gets to the engine combustion chamber. This has a distinctive impact on the charge effect as the cooled air has a much higher density in terms of more air molecules per cubic centimeter. The results: a marked increase of air intake and a much better engine output.
There will be more and more cars equipped with turbo-charged systems and intercoolers. Already today, the majority of turbocharged engines, which means most of the modern diesel and many petrol engines, are equipped with an intercooler. Nissens is prepared to follow the market trends and meet the demands of the market.
More than 85% of all new cars are equipped with an A/C or climate control system, and of course Nissens provides a wide range of products; both total solutions and spare parts. The condenser is sensitive to inaccuracies in the pipe placing which may lead to leaks and loss of effect, and therefore Nissens uses fixed feeder tubes with no fault tolerance in length, diameter and bending angle.
Maximum performance and durability in climate powering
Nissens’ compressors are high-quality products that are designed and manufactured according to the highest quality and OE standards. The products are thoroughly tested in Nissens’ advanced test centre to ensure maximum compression performance, long durability and a minimum of noise. Furthermore, the optimal design of Nissens’ compressors guarantees an ideal fit on the vehicle, permitting a smooth and easy installation process.
Why opt for Nissens compressors?

FEATUREs and characteristics:
The dryer absorbs dirt and moisture to keep the coolant in the air condition system clean, and it ensures that only liquid is conducted on to the expansion valve. In this way, you avoid destroying the compressor which drives the system, and the A/C system will function better and for a longer time without repairs. The dryer is placed either on the condenser near the outlet connection or just after the condenser. The dryer should always be changed together with the condenser! Nissens' dryer is a quality product ensuring long durability for the A/C system.
Nissens' evaporators have been designed and manufactured with optimum heat exchange in mind. The hot air passes the evaporator's cooling fins, and the cooling gas in the evaporator absorbs the heat. At the same time, the air humidity condenses on the surface of the evaporator, and the water is gathered and led away along with dust, pollen, etc. As the evaporator is exposed to both temperature variations, high pressure, and moisture, it is important that design and manufacturing take these factors into account.
The heater gets its heat from the hot water circulating in the engine cooling system and releases it to the car cabin against which it is placed. Nissens' heaters are made according to our strict quality demands. We ensure that the product fits into the mounting casette and that the proper connections and extra foam rubber are included for installation. A control test of Nissens' heaters ensures a long service life and prevents odour problems due to oil residue or similar. All products are clearly marked with a Nissens reference no. and a serial no. to show that it is quality-assured.
Most fan manufacturers supply only part of the fan: e.g. motor, fins, or bearings, and this can make fan repair and replacement a time-consuming and challenging task. Nissens supplies complete fan solutions, ready for installation, and the fans fit perfectly to both Nissens' radiators and OE radiators. A Nissens fan even fits a number of different radiator models, and all fans are manufactured from quality materials and tested as complete units. This means that the fan is properly balanced, and that effect, functionality, and reliability are ensured.
Besides standard products, Nissens is capable of manufacturing custom-made cores - in both copper and aluminium. In this way, it is possible to dimension your own cores according to the specific demand.
