Back in the early ‘90s, the first Altima rolled off the line. Since then, the automaker has never stopped upgrading its sedan improving both its driving capabilities and appearance. The 2020 Nissan Altima received another bunch of changes. These upgrades include redesigned body parts, distinctive 2020 Nissan Altima accessories, and new safety features. Currently in its sixth generation, the sedan is equipped standard with a 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder developing 188 HP and 180 lb-ft of torque. The intelligent AWD is optional for all models powered by this mill. The 2.0 L VC-Turbo is offered on FWD versions. It is rated at 248 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains are married to an Xtronic CVT. The entry-level S trim comes with Automatic Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert, and Forward Collision Warning. The top-end Platinum trim adds an around-view monitor as standard equipment.
The 2020 Altima is available in a variety of trims to meet different customers’ needs. The exclusive Safety Shield 360 is standard on the SR, SV, SL, and Platinum and includes a comprehensive suite of driver aids that play the dual role of making driving safer and more enjoyable. The ProPilot Assist system is probably the most noticeable improvement. It controls acceleration, steering, and braking in order to keep the Altima positioned in its lane. In fact, there are just a few new things for the interior of the 2020 Nissan Altima. Thus, SV, SL, and Platinum models are now offered with all-new piano black interior trim. The top Platinum trim also received memory function for driver-side mirror positions. Just like before, the well-built interior is highlighted by comfortable seats.
Unlike the 2019 model that received a radical new design and a bunch of new, exclusive accessories, the 2020 model year came with minimal changes. The Altima 2.5 S again runs on 16-inch steel wheels and features power locks and windows, keyless ignition, etc. Higher trims sit on either 17- or 18-inch aluminum wheels. If you want to make your Altima truly yours, you cannot do without custom upgrades. The aftermarket currently offers a comprehensive selection of products designed to give your vehicle an extra touch of style setting it apart from the crowd.
