Backed by Honda's well-earned reputation for reliability, the 2014 Civic remains one of the top choices as a comfortable compact for daily driving. The Honda Civic was once a dominant offering in the compact economy car niche, but now it faces stiff competition from the Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, and Ford Focus. To keep its economy car well-prepared, Honda gives the Civic plenty of standard features, stellar fuel efficiency, and adept handling. One more great thing about this car is that it offers a broad selection of options, from the low-emissions CNG-powered daily driver to the high-revving Si. For the new model year, Honda added a CVT automatic instead of the old 5-speed transmission for more power and greater fuel efficiency. Also new are some tech and safety features as well as a revised appearance and suspension for the Coupe and a modest increase in power for the Si.
With a comprehensive upgrade made to the exterior of a sedan version last year, it's time for the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to receive its handful of visual changes. Front and rear fascias got refreshed styling, with sharper lines and more aggressive accents dominated by new grille and wheel designs. The rear end got taller, while fog lights received larger bezels. Inside, 2014 Honda Civic parts and accessories are thoughtfully combined to create a roomy, comfortable in-cabin environment. The car's interior got plenty of sound-deadening materials for a quiet ride. Plastic panels are nicely textured and combined with soft-touch surfaces, creating a more pleasant look than the previous model. Although the Civic is an affordable runabout, it's packed with tech, including the standard rearview camera, which is not typical for this class of vehicles. EX and higher trim levels received a new easy-to-use 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen for 2014. Other 2014 Honda Civic accessories and systems that became available for the new model year include the LaneWatch display that alerts the driver of vehicles in blind spots and Smart Entry & Push Button Start.
Powertrain choices for the 2014 Civic are plentiful. There's a selection of three four-cylinder engines providing from 110 to 205 horsepower and a host of transmissions making good use of their output. Employing neither direct fuel injection nor turbocharging technology, these powertrains are simple yet smooth and reliable. The base version gets a 143-hp inline-four that displaces 1.8 liters and pairs to a 5-speed manual or to a new and much praised CVT. The most fuel-efficient HF trim level uses the same driving force but improves fuel economy thanks to enhanced aerodynamics. The sporty Civic Si comes with a 2.4-liter 205-hp engine and an engaging 6-speed manual. The version that uses compressed natural gas takes power from the base engine that in combination with a modified fuel system gives out 110 hp, which is the same amount that the Civic with a hybrid powertrain is capable of. Whatever version of this auto you own, we provide the right 2014 Honda Civic accessories and parts for it.
