Among the trio of best-selling half-ton pickup trucks, the Ram 1500 stands out with its sophisticated interiors and ride quality. It does all of the common truck duties with aplomb as well, having strong capability in terms of towing, hauling, and off-roading. The Ram 1500 entered its fifth generation a couple of years ago so the regular lineup is still fresh. The biggest news for 2021 is the launch of the Ram 1500 TRX, equipped with a high-speed desert-runner package of parts. No matter what exact model of this pickup truck you own and how you use it, we have all of the necessary 2021 Ram 1500 accessories and parts to trick it out and ensure its reliable and lasting operation.
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is indisputably a new king of the lineup. For starters, it sports a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 rated at 702 horsepower, which is the highest hp output of any other half-ton truck currently available on the market. The engine teams with a stout 8-speed automatic gearbox and 4-wheel drive. Thanks to this mighty Hellcat powerplant as well as a redesigned suspension, stronger frame, and a variety of goodies meant for sand running, the TRX takes off-road performance to a whole new level. The truck’s 11.8-inch ground clearance, adaptive Bilstein dampers at all four corners, 35-inch all-terrain tires, a full-time active transfer case’s 2.64:1 low-range gearing, and an electronically-locking diff make it more than capable on the mud, sand, and rocks. The TRX is protected all around by goodies like skid plates and rock rails, with plenty of Mopar accessories offered for further upgrades. However, if you want a unique look and customized performance for less money, browse our selection of 2021 Ram 1500 parts and accessories that come from some of the most famous aftermarket brands. The TRX Launch Edition is available in 702 examples, with each being painted Anvil Gray and having an exclusive badge on the inside. The first of the batch, VIN #001, is additionally fitted with Mopar accessories, wheels that can be upgraded with beadlock rings, and the Harman/Kardon audio.
Technology-wise, the half-ton Ram pickup got a few updates for 2021. For the first time, it comes with an optional head-up display, and it is a full-color customizable unit. Those who want to try a digital version of a rearview mirror can now option it up. Among the newly available upgrades, there are a snow plow prep package and reverse steering aid that eases backing up to a trailer. As always, there’s a whole lot of special edition versions available for the Ram 1500. The Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition applies some makeup to the interior by dressing it up in the Mountain Brown color and adding exclusive trim pieces as well as Berber carpeting and unique pedals. And of course, those who want a blacked-out appearance do have the right model to get their hands on. The Limited-based Night edition rides on black wheels and adds a variety of black exterior elements including logos, exhaust tips, light bezels, mirrors, and the grille.
Ram's Built To Serve Editions are designed to honor all those who serve in the U.S. armed forces. They come in five variants, representing the five branches of the U.S. military. These special-edition trucks stand out with their patriotic design elements and military-inspired body paint colors, like Tank Green and Flame Red on the model that celebrates the Marine Land Forces. Black trim is part of the package, as are body-color fender flares and 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber. The trucks are equipped with the 4x4 Off-Road Group pack that includes underside protection, tow hooks, heavy-duty shock absorbers, and other goodies.
Regular Ram 1500 trucks are powered by carryover V6 and V8 engines. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is a standard offering good for 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade options are represented by a 5.7-liter 395-hp gasoline V8 and a 3.0-liter diesel V6 that produces a healthy 480 pound-feet of torque while making 260 hp. The Ram 1500 owes its smooth ride to rear coil springs which, however, do not compromise its load carrying and pulling capability. An air suspension front and rear is an available option. The truck’s towing capacity tops out at 12,750 pounds. Tech-wise, the half-ton Ram pickup is an advanced vehicle, however, the common driver assistance technologies do not come with the base Tradesman. Step up from that model and you’re offered a wide range of features from a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen to Trailer Reverse Steer Control.
