The history of the Peugeot 505 began in 1979 when it was first introduced to the European public. It was designed as a mid-size car offered in either a four-door sedan or five-door station wagon body style. In North America, the Peugeot appeared a bit later, in 1980, and there were several notable changes made if compared with the original vehicle.
