Yes, installation is simple and the instructions are clear-cut. To install the front mount hitch for the SnowSport® HD Utility Plow, plan about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your level of experience. From there, the blade attaches in minutes. The SnowSport® 180 plow simply plugs into an existing 2” rear receiver.
No, the blade is made of clear anodized, hardened extruded aluminum. It never rusts or needs to be painted.
As you push snow, the blade travels up and down as needed by gravity. The rubber cutting edge is designed to cut through the snow but pass over the harder ground surfaces below and be gentle on grass. When you back up, the blade automatically lies back, skimming over the surface. Then you drive forward and the blade re-engages for plowing.
The operator manually lowers the blade one end at a time to start plowing. When the plowing job is done, lift the blade one end at a time onto the push frame for transporting.
It's very easy. Just insert the push frame into the front receiver hitch and secure with the pin. Then hang the blade one end at a time onto the push frame (can be done in less than a minute). Unhooking is just as easy.
The SnowSport® HD Utility Plows aluminum blade is about 110 lbs. The complete kit with blade, push frame and hitch is about 225 lbs. The SnowSport® 180 Plows blade weighs 56 lbs. Complete kits with the blade and front mount range from 94 to 120 lbs.
The rubber edge is 1” thick and 6” high - made of a durable rubber compound. The life expectancy of the rubber is 10+ years.
