One of Nissan’s longest-running vehicles, the Maxima underwent a facelift for 2019. The brand’s flagship now comes with redesigned fascias, both front and rear, and offers a number of new technology features. The front end now features the styling cues similar to those of the Altima, boasting edgier lines and a sharper, bigger, and more pronounced V-shaped grille. The driving lights are now mounted higher than before. The rear end continues an edgy theme with redesigned tail lights stretching further forward. The lower rear fascia is also more defined now, with the exhaust tips featuring a quad rectangular design instead of a dual oval one. The SR trim level got a rear spoiler. The 2019 Nissan Maxima also received new standard tech features including the latest version of the corporate infotainment system and more safety features, with the ProPilot Assist system being offered as an option.

Just like before, the 2019 Nissan Maxima comes with a sole powertrain, being a 3.5 L V6 capable of generating 300 hp that works together with a performance-oriented CVT. The engine uses some features from the GT-R sports car such as sodium-filled valves to deliver excellent performance and notable power output. As for the gearbox, it offers the D-Step shifting logic that allows for quick shifts and a wide gear ratio range for fast acceleration. The model also comes with a Drive Mode Selector that adjusts the steering feel, transmission tuning, throttle response, and Active Sound Enhancement tuning. To handle the solid power output generated by the powertrain, the Maxima comes with 4-wheel ABS, brake assist, EBD, and 4-wheel vented disc brakes with power assist.

The 2019 Nissan Maxima offers a long list of standard features. It consists of LED DRLs, fog lights, 18” aluminum-alloy wheels, keyless ignition and entry, remote start, climate control, leather steering wheel, and power adjustment for the front seats. As for tech features, the model offers navigation, smartphone integration, 8” touchscreen, 8-speaker audio system, and two USB ports. Besides, the vehicle provides ample utility with 14.3 cu. ft of cargo space in the wide-opening trunk, cupholders, center armrest, and charging cord placed in a covered bin below the dashboard. The new Platinum Reserve package elevates interior luxury with tan-shade leather seats, two-tone steering wheel, and bronze accents. Another package named SR Premium adds a panoramic sunroof, around-view camera, and the Safety Shield 360 suite. This safety suite is new for this model year, offered as standard on the top-grade Platinum and available on the mid-range SL and SR. It is a batch of six driver aids that include automatic braking and high beams.
