Make sure to adjust the striker poperly and to lock it in place after the installation, if the locking nut is not locked in place the bolt will come loose and the door will fall out of adjustment.
The striker should look like the image below "IMAGE 1" and the sound of the door should be very close to the original sound it make with the factory door hinges.
You will have to lower the door by turning the adjustment screw counter-clockwise until the stricker is align just like the "IMAGE 1".
You will have to raise the door by turning the adjustment screw clockwise until the stricker is align just like the "IMAGE 1".
After adjusting the door striker, make sure to lock the locking nut into place to avoid the adjustment screw from becoming loose.
Please Note: You cannot compress the shocks by hand. The shock has 450Lbs - 800Lbs of pressure per square inch. They will not compress until installed on the hinge.

Yes, you can as long as you are mechanically inclined and have basic tools. If after reading general instructions you feel you want to have a professional installer, do it.
Most Kits come with vehicle specific instructions with pictures but here is the basic installation:
Use 2” painters tape to mark the factory door location on the vertical and horizontal planes. Also measure the distance between the apron and front edge of the door by the top and bottom hinge.
Note: Do not install fender until the adjustment of the door is accurate. Also make sure everything is tight, adjustment is set and everything is Locktite.
Close the door and reinstall the Fender.

What tools do I need to install a Lambo Door Kit?
First make sure that we carry a Bolton Lambo Door for your specific vehicle
In this installation example to speed up and make the process easy use: 2" painters tape, Air Ratchet, air Grinder and air Cutter. In most cars you will need to use sockets or wrenches 9/16, 7MM, 8MM, 10MM, 11MM, 13MM. You will need a fork, Phillip and flat screw drivers, 3/16 Allen Wrench, 1/4 Torx Bit and Red Locktite. Every car is different so other tools may be needed for your specific car.
Make sure to ready all the instructions included with your Vertical Doors, Inc. kit before starting the installation.
Use painters take to secure protect the edge of the fender from accidental scratches.
Remove the bolts securing the front fender to the chassis and front bumper.
Open the door and remove the bolt securing the top of the fender to the apron as shown.
Turn the wheel all the way and pull back on the splash guard. You will need a long extension on the passenger side. You will have to go behind the windshield water reservoir to get to the bolt securing the fender to the apron.
You will have to remove the side skirt to gain access to the bolt at the bottom of the side skirt. Our tech only removed the 1st couple of clips but we highly recommend you remove the entire side skirt to avoid damaging it.
Remove the cover at the top of the fender to gain access to the last bolt securing the fender to the chassis. CAREFULLY remove the fender making sure not the scratch the Bumper or door on the process.
In most cases you will need to remove the door panel. for the Camaro 6th Gen Remove the (3) 7mm bolts securing the door panel to the door as shown on the Image 1.
Before you can remove the door panel, carefully remove the interior wire harness and the pull cable as shown on Image 2.
You will need to remove the speaker from the door. Once the door panel is off the door remove two clips as shown below this will give you the extra wire slack needed to allow the door to be raised up.
Also remove the tape that holds the wire harness to the inner boot on the door side this will allow the wire harness to move freely.
Vertical Lambo Door Installation, removal of door speaker. With the speaker off the door you will now be able to remove the “Door Catch” by removing the 3 bolts securing it. It will need to be removed using the speaker hole.
Note: Removing the Door Catch is optional.
You will need to remove one of the apron brackets. This will allow you to install the new VDI hinge kit flush on the car.
Before removing the factory hinges you MUST mark the factory location of the door on the vertical and horizontal planes. Also mark and measure the distance between the apron and the edge of the door by the top and bottom hinge.
Place tape around the door and body of the vehicle as shown to help you locate the factory location. Then use 2” painters tape to secure the door to the body.
After making sure you have all the marks you need in case the door moves during installation, you can remove the factory door hinges.
Do not use any type of plyers, paint or foreign materials on the shock's body or shaft. Make sure to use grease and locktite as shown below.
After installing the new VDI kit you should be able to raise the doors and start the fine tuning you’re your new VDI kit.
Note: wire loom will have to be cut in half, use provided wire loom to protect the exposed wires.
You will also need to flip the wire boot upside down as shown on the picture on the right. The wire harness will be inside the firewall.
There are two options to handle firewall wire boot.
Just flip it upside down the swing arm will push on the boot, but since there are no wires in the bottom half of the boot it should be ok. Push the wire boot inside the firewall this is also OK.
Once hinge is locked in place, break nut #1 then turn Allen set screw #2 on fig until it hits the block then open the door and continue to adjust until the door matches with the striker, open and close door making sure it closes like factory. Hint*(leave #1 nut loose until shock is installed Allen set screw will have to be re-adjusted after shock is installed.
Install the shock.
Hint* (You will need a helper to raise the door). Raise the door up (Slip the spherical rod mount into the spherical ball bearing at the bottom of the hinge(1). Using a 1/4 Allen wrench, tighten the screw into the swing arm (2). After the shock is installed secure it by installing the pin in the bottom shock end (3).
After shock is installed re-install door panel and lift the door. Adjust door opening screw #3 clockwise until distance between nub and swing arm is enough so that the swing arm moves up and down freely.
Hint* (Fine tune the Allen Adjustment screw (#2) to realigned striker with door. After the door is align test door by opening and closing, lifting and lowering door several times.
Note: Do not install fender until the adjustment of the door is accurate, and the set screw is tightly secure. Also make sure everything is tight, adjustment is set and everything is Locktite.
Cut the inner lip of your fender to make room for the new Vertical Doors hinge. Note: After you have cut the fender use a sander or grinder and make sure the surface is completely flat. Cut the fender along the inside mark of the tape. After making the cut and making smooth use touch up paint to give it a finish look.
Note: Yo can cut or roll the inner fender. We choose to cut because it gives it a finish look.
You only need to cut just enough to allow the swing arm to move freely without it hitting the fender.
Close the door and replace the fender. Hint*(Make sure the electrical wires don’t get pinched enough to damage wires) For the other side just follow steps.
