The Kona is Hyundai's first global offering in the booming mini-ute segment. It joined the brand's lineup of crossovers for 2018 and was named after renowned tourism destinations just like its bigger brothers, the Santa Fe and Tucson. This cute ute offers the right combination of a compact size, ample interior space, versatility, and fun-to-drive character, all set up to rival with the likes of the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, and Mazda CX-3. The Hyundai Kona's exterior design was aimed at making a bold statement. Up front, there are slim full-LED headlights and Hyundai's new Cascading Grille with a mesh pattern. Its short rear overhang, low roofline, and wing fenders create a sleek profile, while contrasting elements such as black body cladding and the available two-tone roof add to an aggressive visual presence.
On the inside, Hyundai Kona accessories and parts are thoughtfully blended to continue the progressive design theme. Throughout the cabin, there are bright trim accents that match the body color, contrasting with black plastic and upholstery. All controls are smartly arranged to keep the driver constantly tuned to the road ahead. A 7'' standard and 8'' optional touchscreens feature Hyundai's first Display Audio, which provides Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. There's also a large 8'' head-up display in front of the driver that shows relevant driving data, used for the first time as well. The Hyundai Kona offers a wide selection of active safety features, including Driver Attention Alert and Lane Keeping Assist that come as standard. Passive safety technology provides protection to occupants in the event of a crash. The Kona features a high-strength steel construction, ring-shaped shell, enlarged safety zone, and multiload-pass cabin structure to reduce the impact in a collision to a minimum. Interior protection comes complete with six airbags.
Mechanical-wise, all Hyundai Kona parts and accessories are set up to provide a dynamic driving experience. For this model lineup, Hyundai offers a wide choice of market-specific powertrains, that includes everything from small turbo engines to the latest in diesel technology. The standard powertrain for the U.S. is a 2.0-liter inline-four, with 147 hp and 132 lb-ft directed through a six-speed automatic. Buyers can also get their hands on a turbocharged Kona, powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four delivering 175 hp and 195 lb-ft, coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch auto. The global market also gets a tiny 1.0-liter three-cylinder as well as a 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel. The Kona is an agile and capable ute that is equally good on city roads and mountain curves, but you can always upgrade it to better suit your action-filled lifestyle. And we offer all Hyundai Kona accessories and parts to improve every aspect of your crossover's performance, utility, or appearance.
