The Honda Civic is all-new for the 2022 model year, which marks the 11th generation of the hugely popular compact car. Available in front-wheel-drive sedan and hatchback forms, the redesigned Civic wears more mature styling and gains a roomier, more refined interior with new technology. Like before, the lineup offers the right small car for every buyer’s needs, from practical models well-suited for everyday commuting to racetrack-ready performers. And what remains unchanged for the Civic is its highly customizable nature. We have a full range of 2022 Honda Civic accessories and parts for all kinds of upgrades that owners may be planning. And if you are looking for affordable yet quality repair parts to keep your car in perfect shape, ready to scoot you around at all times, we carry a full range of products needed to get the job done right.
The 2022 Civic a has more rigid chassis for better handling and ride quality. It has gained 1.4 inches of wheelbase, resulting in some extra space for rear passengers, while the rear track is now half an inch wider for better stability. The suspension has been slightly retuned, providing more comfortable driving, while the steering calibration has been tweaked to make the car more responsive. In the case of the sedan, engine options carry over from the outgoing model. The base LX and mid-range Sport models feature a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated I4 with 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque, which is adequate for most situations. Higher up are the EX and Touring trim levels with a peppy 1.5-liter turbo four that now makes a bit more HP and torque and comes with stop-start to save fuel. This unit is good for 180 hp and 177 lb-ft. On non-performance Civics, a CVT is the only transmission choice, while a manual gearbox is exclusive to the Si and Type-R versions.
Things are a bit different for the 2022 Honda Civic hatchback unveiled later this year. Like the sedan, it comes in four trim levels that offer the same content and options but topmost trims have different names – LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring models are available for the hatch. Unlike the previous generation hatchback that was powered exclusively by the 1.5-liter I4, the new version mirrors the sedan’s engine options and adds the 2.0-liter unit that propels the two lower trims. But unlike its sibling that offers a CVT as the sole transmission choice, the new Civic hatchback can provide stick shifting fun – a 6-speed manual is available on the Sport and Sport Touring.
The new Civic sedan has more reserved styling compared to its predecessor, with simpler, cleaner lines and a more square-cut rear end. The front and rear fascias are drawn from the Accord. Up front, the most visible change is a more aggressive lower grille design that is taller and wider than before. The tweaked headlights now have DRLs positioned above the housings instead of below them. The hatchback version has ditched the rear spoilers, with the result being a cleaner profile and rear end look. It also has a slightly different grille and taillight design setting it apart from the Civic sedan. Naturally, the hatch offers a larger cargo hold than its brother, providing 25 cubic feet of trunk space versus the sedan’s 15 cubic feet. The cabin of the eleventh-gen Civic is a definite step forward in terms of design, materials, and tech features; as always, the aftermarket for this model remains broad enough to offer all manner of 2022 Honda Civic parts and accessories for interior upgrades and other mods. A honeycomb-patterned design element that runs across the dash immediately catches the eye. Overall, the interior appears simpler and less cluttered. A 7.0-inch touchscreen tackles infotainment duties. On the options list, there is a bigger 9.0-inch display with wireless smartphone connectivity, as is a 10.2-inch digital instrument screen. The HondaSensing bundle of safety features is standard.
