2013 Honda Accord Hood Locks + Latches Reviews

1 review
Hood latch is made of very poor quality. Compared to the OEM, the design to secure the cable in on this latch is flawed. The cable does not stay in the retainer because it is an upside down U-shape so the cable just slides back out from shutting the hood. Second, the electronic sensor to indicate that the hood is open does not even function, plugged it in and shut the hood and the car did not register it. Took a look at the sensor mechanism and the contact points do not close. Finally, the handle for the secondary latch does not have a rubber handle cover like the OEM one does. The OEM part from the dealer is actually only a few dollars more. Only bought the aftermarket one because the plug on the cars harness was crushed, so we planned to splice the wires together and this latch had a pigtail to do that. We ended up calling a junk yard to get a new plug to solder onto the car's harness and use an OEM latch after all. Very disappointing and poor quality. Would not recommend to anyone.
